《太平洋大逃杀》源于一起发生在2010年的真实事件。2010年12月，“鲁荣渔2682号”渔船载33名船员出海，前往秘鲁、智利海域钓鱿，其间渔船失去踪迹。出海8个月后，被中国渔政船拖带回港时，船上只剩11名船员。历时近两年的侦办和审理，11名生存船员被判杀害22名同伴。
