本片改编自发生在高雄的真实事件，当时一家六口自认被神明附身，全家人发疯似的起乩，甚至自残等种种离奇行径，最后更导致有家庭成员死亡。
本片将聚焦一个古巴裔美国家庭，围绕一位准新娘的父亲如何面对女儿的婚礼展开。
