《名不虚传》讲述了17世纪朝鲜的男医师许任(金南佶 饰)与21世纪大韩民国的女医生崔妍京(金雅中 饰)穿越时空的奇幻医学故事。金南佶在剧中饰演的许任是一位精通针灸的医师，将因为意想不到的事件而穿越到四百年后的首尔市中心。金雅中则饰演外表华丽冰冷，但内心却充满了伤痛和秘密的胸部外科专修医生崔妍京，不认为针灸是医术的她在与从朝鲜来的许任相遇后将卷入命运的巨大漩涡中。
